Copyright and Media Ownership
This page serves as a public and legal reference outlining the copyright status, authorship, and usage permissions for original works created in Northudankton, particularly those created by its founder Jonathan T. Freeman.
The L&A (The L and A)
The L&A is a narrative video series created, written, directed, produced, and owned by Jonathan T. Freeman between 2016 and 2018. It serves as a filmed adaptation of an expansive fictional universe first developed through live-action role-play (LARP) by Freeman and longtime collaborator Alex Jackson between 2010 and 2016. These early role-play adventures, often simply referred to as "the Game," lacked a formal title at the time but became an enduring and central part of Freeman’s childhood. Over the years, the lore organically grew into a vast and deeply personal mythos.
Episodes of The L&A were typically unscripted, guided only by loose story ideas or scene goals—reminiscent of the spontaneous, imaginative style of the original "Game." Some later episodes, particularly in Season 2, adopted more structured storytelling, with partial or full scripts and a stronger sense of continuity. Season 2 is generally more sequential in nature, while Season 1 leans more episodic. The production made minimal use of costumes, special effects, or set design, relying instead on outdoor and indoor locations readily available during filming. This grounded aesthetic was intentional, reflecting both the grassroots spirit of the original adventures and a desire to preserve their authenticity in tangible form.
The L&A holds an important place in early Northudankton cultural history, representing one of its first domestically produced media properties and a foundational work of its creative heritage. It also laid the groundwork for its successor, The Novyra Operatives, which embraced a more narrative-driven and structured storytelling approach.
All episodes, scripts (where applicable), character designs, visuals, and audio elements of The L&A are fully copyrighted under U.S. law, with Jonathan T. Freeman as the sole legal creator and rights holder. The series is hosted on YouTube under Freeman’s official channel.
Copyright Notice
Unauthorized reproduction, reuploading, remixing, or public redistribution of The L&A content—whether in full or in part—is strictly prohibited without express written permission from the rights holder. This includes derivative works, compilations, AI-generated reinterpretations, or uses that may falsely suggest endorsement or authorship.
Uses falling under the doctrine of fair use—such as commentary, critique, non-commercial analysis, or educational reference—are permitted provided they are properly attributed and not misleading in origin, authorship, or context. Misrepresentation or misuse of the material may result in removal and legal action.
The Novyra Operatives
The Novyra Operatives is an original science fiction and space opera novel series created, written, and owned by Jonathan T. Freeman of the micronation of Northudankton. The first installment, The Novyra Operatives: First Chronicle, began development in November 2023. The story is set in the Vorandhria Galaxy and follows the Novyra Operatives—an elite planetary defense organization based on the planet Novyra. The series thematically explores duty, exploration, conflict, and reconciliation, and serves as a spiritual successor to Freeman’s earlier series, The L&A.
The universe of The Novyra Operatives was originally developed by Jonathan T. Freeman and Alex R. Jackson through informal live-action role-play adventures from 2010 to 2016, later adapted into the YouTube series The L&A (2016–2018). This novel series expands that foundational mythology into a fully developed narrative, introducing new characters, planets, factions, and plotlines designed for a young adult audience.
The setting includes the planet Novyra—homeworld of the Novyran people—along with several other key worlds in the Tamyny system: Tamyny-1, Tunaeniap, Esiscurnato, Angita, and Sarkil-Bas. Major characters include Fabio Zon, Alex Zon, Joe Nedd, Jacob Remming, and Xavier Remming, as well as the alien species known as the Arkiziens. The story explores the historical tensions between the Novyrans and Arkiziens, themes of leadership under the L&A (Leadership & Authority), and broader questions about shared evolution, exile, and interstellar diplomacy.
The Novyra Operatives novels are narrative adaptations of a universe built over years of collaborative storytelling. They continue the legacy of The L&A while establishing a more refined literary structure, complete with original terminology, factions, technologies, architecture, locations, and lore unique to the Novyran setting.

Unauthorized reproduction, adaptation, publication, or distribution of any of the above elements—whether textual, visual, audio, or in derivative form—is strictly prohibited without express written permission from the creator. This includes use in fan fiction, AI-generated works, adaptations, or digital content that misrepresents authorship or implies endorsement. All rights reserved.
Until the official release of The Novyra Operatives, reproduction, distribution, or public commentary based on unreleased content is not authorized. After release, fair use commentary, critique, or reference will be permitted, provided it is clearly attributed, non-commercial in nature, and does not misrepresent the source or authorship. Misuse or infringement of copyrighted material may result in legal action under applicable copyright law.
The Out The Window Live Stream
The Out The Window Live Stream is a continuous media project created and owned by Jonathan T. Freeman, beginning April 17, 2021, with its first iterations dating back to September 2019. The project provides a 24/7 livestream view of Central Duikienin from the Grand Palace of Northudankton, evolving through multiple versions and camera setups across its history.
All content associated with Out The Window—including but not limited to every version and archival recording, all original software code written for the stream, all custom sounds and music composed for the project, every frame of video captured, and all accompanying audio—is fully owned and copyrighted by Jonathan T. Freeman. This ownership extends to the current OTW v3 livestream and any prior or future iterations.
For purposes of this section, all audio‑visual content captured, recorded, transmitted, or broadcast by the Out The Window livestream—including incidental, unintentional, or background capture of third‑party works, sounds, images, voices, likenesses, property, or conversations—shall be deemed the exclusive property of Jonathan T. Freeman. The livestream is operated from a fixed webcam and microphone system mounted on privately‑owned residential property and employs only unmodified, commercially‑available consumer hardware. The microphone gain is limited to a modest +5 dB boost, such that it captures only sounds that would be audible to an ordinary passer‑by standing at the same location; it is not intended to eavesdrop, enhance, or target private speech.
Reasonable‑expectation‑of‑privacy safeguard. OTW does not purposefully zoom, aim, or otherwise intrude into spaces where a person would reasonably expect privacy (for example, through windows, behind fences, or within shielded patios). If incidental capture nevertheless records material that, under applicable law, enjoys a legitimate expectation of privacy—such as intimate, medical, or child‑related content—the appearance shall not be published or shall be removed or obscured upon discovery or credible notice.
Case‑by‑case takedown policy. While incidental or background appearances are generally non‑actionable under U.S. copyright, publicity‑rights, and one‑party‑consent statutes, OTW will evaluate credible requests for removal, suppression, redaction, or alteration on a case‑by‑case basis. Requests should (i) identify with reasonable specificity the date/time of the footage, (ii) articulate the privacy, safety, or statutory basis for the concern, and (iii) include any supporting documentation. Jonathan T. Freeman reserves the right to grant or deny such requests at his discretion, but will give good‑faith consideration to:
- Protected privacy interests of minors;
- Content recorded in circumstances a court would likely deem private;
- Valid judicial orders or statutory mandates (e.g., child‑protection laws, sealed proceedings);
- Other substantial risks of harm or harassment proven by the requester.
Except as provided in the preceding paragraph, no person whose image, voice, likeness, property, or communications are incidentally captured shall have any independent claim of ownership, compensation, control, or licensing over OTW content. Publication of such incidental capture shall not waive, limit, or forfeit Jonathan T. Freeman’s exclusive copyrights or proprietary rights, nor constitute a privacy violation where the capture is in line with ordinary residential monitoring.
Notice of recording. OTW maintains conspicuous online notice that audio and video recording are continuous. On‑site signage may be used where practicable to further reduce any claim of ignorance.
Prohibited uses. No rebroadcasting, recording, reproduction, or other unauthorized use of any portion of the stream, its videos, underlying code, or sound material is permitted without express written consent. Commentary, critique, and non‑commercial references consistent with fair‑use doctrine are allowed when properly attributed and not misleading as to source or authorship.
Out The Window v3, launched April 17, 2021, is the current and most advanced version, featuring multiple camera angles and a rolling 12‑hour archival buffer. Recurring events—such as the Monthly Address—and the evolving garden village continue to be documented. Development of Out The Window v4 will carry forward this tradition of immersive livestreaming and creative innovation.

Freeman. Derivative works, adaptations, AI-generated reinterpretations, or any digital content suggesting affiliation or authorship are likewise prohibited unless licensed explicitly. Public domain assets used within the film remain credited and unaffected by this ownership, but all creative integration and arrangement thereof remain proprietary to the creator.

Newsrug Town
Newsrug Town is a comedic animated children's series and hand-puppet show created and owned by Jonathan T. Freeman and developed for the NORB Kids division of the NORB Network. It is inspired by Freeman’s childhood art and puppet characters created in the late 2000s, particularly the titular hand-shaped creatures Newsrug and Rugnews. The show features surreal slapstick humor, abstract moral lessons, and bizarre visual gags. Development began in early 2025 with an anticipated pilot release following The Plague Amongst Us. The show is unreleased at time of writing.
